Maine Permanent Makeup License Requirements

The Division of Environmental Health of the Maine Department of Health regulates permanent cosmetics in the state of Maine and have made it incredibly easy to find information about permanent cosmetic licensing on their website.

You may apply for a license by clicking here and filling out the form for Tattooing, Body Piercing, Electrology, Micropigmentation. Alternatively, you may call (207) 287-5671 for a hard copy.

The Division has published a list of Micropigmentation rules for practitioners. You may read it on their website, or click here for a PDF. Point 8 on page 8 refers to training and education required for licensing.

According to the table available in the application form, the application fee is $225.
