California Permanent Makeup License Requirements
Last updated: May, 2017
In California, regulating permanent makeup is up to each county’s Department of Health.
Usually, though, there are a few things most counties will ask for in order to issue a body art practitioner permit:
- Proof of being 18 or older (driver’s license or other photo ID)
- Blood-borne pathogens certificate
- Hepatitis Vaccination Certificate or completed Declination Form
- A completed application issue by the county
- Payment of license fee
If you would like to go into business for yourself, you will need a business owner/operator license. Again, this must done directly with your county authorities.
