Arizona Permanent Makeup License Requirements
Last updated: May, 2107
It does not appear that Arizona regulates tattooing or permanent makeup at this time. However, this does not mean that you can set up shop and do permanent makeup out of your home or car, as that would be illegal per state law. Also, while there may not be state-wide laws regulating permanent makeup, you should check with city and county authorities because often if states don’t regulate, they will.
If you want to do permanent makeup in Arizona, it is recommended that you either become affiliated with a business that has a valid operating license, or better yet, go into business for yourself. Your new business might need an operating license, so check with your county offices to make sure you have everything you need to comply with the law.
It is recommended that you still invest in some certifications and accreditations in order to make your future clients feel safer in your hands. You can become certified in bloodborne and airbone pathogens by either the National Safety Council or the Red Cross, or become accredited by major permanent cosmetic societies like the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals or the American Micropigmentation Academy.
